I have published a biography, showing what life was like growing up in a small mining village: ‘Growing Up in the Varteg – A Trip Down Memory Lane’ The book has been very well received locally and further a field, with over 1,200 copies sold.

I have also composed about 600 poems, with 34 of these being published in various anthologies, under the Pen Name Robert Gerald. Many of my poems focus on the hard and difficult life of workers- miners and tinplate workers- during the 1920s and 1930s and the subsequent effect on families
